Vodacom call centre : Do they answer eventually ?

23 minutes :( I thought CLIP was standard anyway ? Every call I receive is 'unknown' ...

Can't you dial *#30# to see if it is activated and use Vodacom4me to activate it is it is not?

Ok. Disconnected on 46 minutes and tried that 'phone number of caller not displayed' (which I knew). I'll check on Voda4me ...

Thanks

At least vc hold music is better then telkom. On telkom they repeat "thank you for holding. all our consultants are currently busy..." every 5 to 10 seconds. That call lasted 30 minutes before i spoke to a consultant.
As I heard over and over yesterday, while on hold for near on an hour, HSDPA is apparently faster than ADSL and we know that couldn't be further from the truth.

I was on hold for so long yesterday trying to get my blackberry reset (somehow spammers have got their hands on an vodacom email addy that has never been given out to anyone ) that my phone would have gone flat if I hadnt been able to plug it in.

Never got the reset but did get an apparently empty promise to call me back.

Vodacom4me said it was inactive it seems. Odd *shrug* But it's activated now ... takes 24hrs

Thanks

Don't you want to pass me the details on this call.

- I assume this was 155?
- When did you call?
- From which number?
- Was the call not answered for an hour or did they keep on on the line for an hour trying to fix the problem?
- Did you use the IVR to first go to the BB submenu, or how did you get to a consultant?

Hahaha. Tha old "hold you on the phone for fun and waste your time" trick. ROFL

My friends phone got stolen a few months ago, so he called VCCC and we put my phone on loud speaker, got a few drinks and sat at the table drinking waiting for them to answer, think we went over an hour and no answer. So we dialed again and yet again an hour went by.. 8) By this time we were getting drunk. On the third try we got through and told them to block his contract.

The next day he went and got a new phone, and his new sim. He was amased that the sim worked when he turned the phone on and called me. Thought it was blocked and then unblocked when he got his sim..

But to his missery his contract got blocked A WEEK LATER. He called VCCC again holding for a few hours. They told him that he called to block his contract because his phone got stolen. Then he said, but that was a WEEK ago!! Agent unblocked his contract and he hung up the phone in anger.

Sorry VC. Just had to share this.

Sorry - only saw your reply just now after finally sorting one of the phones. It started off as 111 but they soon transferred me to 155. The huge waiting period was with someone from that (BB/data) dept. It almost sounded like that infamous AOL conversations in that it went something like . .
Me - please delete the account so I can recreate it
Vodacom - But you can delete the account from within it
Me - no I cant - please delete the account so I can recreate it
Voda - If you give me your login details I'll go in and do it
Me - I dont have them on me - cant you please just delete the account so I can recreate it
Voda - Ok we've reset your password to vodacom
Me - Why?? I just want you to please delete the account so I can recreate it
and so on - you get the picture.
Eventually the guy said he couldnt delete it but would have someone get back to me

So today I called again and after reliving the conversation the CSA decided she would have to delete the account. So thats one down and one to go - probably tomorrow.

What bugs me is how did the spammers get the email address in the first place?

That and why isnt there a spam filter? Most of my emails cycle through my other accounts and a gmail account and scrub any vestige of spam away but by sending it to my @mobileemail.vodafonesa.co.za obviously bypasses that.

Anyhow - thanks for the offer to help. :)

I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more

I think im going to break the record:
1 hour, 5 minutes, and counting.

The team leader and his supervisor were on lunch, the consultant put me on hold after first call was answered in 20 minutes. The supervisors manager is a mystery.

Also keeping vodacom's customer care up to date on my waiting time via email as i hold....

Damn.
72 minutes, cut off. Calling back now, but dont know if my battery will make the 2 hour mark.

Right - same hassle ... I LOATHE having to contact Vodacom *sigh* I have my phone sitting next to me on speaker awaiting an agent - but I'm sure I can help faster here ...

Does anyone know what username/password I should enter for Vodamail email? I've just setup mine on Outlook - entered the pop3/smtp etc ... but I'm not sure what username/password they want?

The site says this ...

Username: Username supplied via SMS at registration
Password: Password supplied via SMS at registration

Got it - thanks. Having issues with my email alias ... will start a new thread though
