So I signed up last year for the uncapped Black Friday deal, R299 for 10Mbps uncapped (Soft capped from 400Gb to 2Mbps.)

Then today I got his msg:

Hi, please note that from February 2023, a hard lock will be implemented that will affect the Fair Usage Policy on your plan. View T&Cs for more info: http://voda.com/lte-internet. Further together. Vodacom

But dont worry, if you reach the hardlock, you can buy more....

Hi, following the previous SMS sent 11 Jan. As of February 2023, a hard lock will be applied on your Home Internet LTE Uncapped plan. Once you've depleted your monthly data allocation, you'll need to buy additional data bundles to continue your data connection. T&Cs apply: http://voda.com/lte-internet. Further together. Vodacom

Its amazing that a company can that "say screw you, we are changing the contract and there is nothing you can do about it." So now at 600Gb its a hardcap. My point isnt that I will use that amount of data, I keep this line more for a backup, I also know what uncapped means, there is 99% a softcap in it, but just the ability for them to change the product as they seem fit irks me.

EDIT:
Link to new agreement : https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/home-internet-lte-uncapped

Send them your own agreement saying you will only be paying them R150pm from february

Just sore the message today, something must be done. Basically we are being changed from uncapped to capped.

Ethically/morally they should at least offer the client the option of cancelling if they elect to amend the terms of the original contract. Unfortunately, in our Rainbow nation, business ethics / morals is still a foreign concept.

Skameelperd's gonna skameel, who even membas mybroadband being started due to such k@k with our ISP's?

Exhibit: Jannie & his infamous blended formula, lol.

Don't call it uncapped if it obviously isn't, ass wholes, maybe Vodacom's pronouns are not/reallywhatyousignedupfor?
Also why you don't sign contracts with these duplicitous companies, prepaid FTW!

I feel you, I’m in the same boat. Only took the contract because there was no fiber available and Rain… let’s not go there. I’m hopping this recent article is legit and I’ll be able to cancel without having to pay the penalty

Just a smaller nyana update, the article is indeed legit. I’ve successfully cancelled my home lte ‘uncapped’ as of 31-01-2023
