Vodacom chases MTN's speedy data

Agreed!

Is there a reason that everyone is anti-Telkom, yet pro-Vodacom??

I just don't get it! If you don't want to give Telkom 50% (or more) of the money you spend on mobile data, move to MTN. I've found that their data network is MUCH faster than Vodacom's anyway, especially in the JHB city area.

I'm glad that MTN beat Vodacom to the punch on both 3.6 and 7.2 Mbps! :D

All MTN subscribers on 3.6 please raise your hands, or better still post your speeds:D.

It would be nice for MTN customers if it was actually true, which it appears not to be - MTN seems to have been less than truthful about the availability of its 3.6 HSDPA and HSUPA, [thread=102556]the evidence to support this is currently glaringly obvious...[/thread]

So obviously, MTN where the first to release in theory:D, but not in reality:p.

I noticed the bias loooong ago. I don't have a preference for any specific network, but MTN seems to be the most reliable and efficient. I just wish all networks received equal treatment on the forum. Maybe I have an inflated sense of fairness, but just try emphasising the truth about Vodacom and see what happens.

:D ROFL, LMAO! This must be the funniest thing you've ever posted. I'll definitely nominate you for funniest forumite of the year!

You must be the most anti-Vodacom, pro-MTN member on this forum.

If you can, you hammer Vodacom, but if your beloved MTN falters, you're dead quiet

As an example, MTN so-called launched their 3.6 and 7.2 service, yet not a single shred of evidence have been presented that it's actually true.

Now if it was Vodacom, you'd be posting everywhere how Vodacom is lying and should be taken to the ASA, ICASA, etc.

But when MTN does it, not a squeak...

If a Vodacom press release is published, you count the number of times 'Vodacom' appears and claim that's being biased by the author.

Yet when a MTN press release is published......dead quiet.

Have you ever posted an ASA ruling against MTN? Yet you fall over your feet to publish anything posted on any other forum if it can show Vodacom in a bad light.

We all have our favourite companies, products and brands. That's cool.

But don't be openly biased and then claim your not. It just highlights your hypocrisy.

I can refute your claims in an instant. Just pop off to the MTN section and check.

Again, just check what I say about Virgin as well. [Don't think you did your homework on this on:eek:]

In fact, any network that is giving me grief comes under fire. If it doesn't work, I say so. If it's fast, I also say so (though not as often, because we all expect things to do as it says on the tin, don't we).

Except that with Vodacom it's not just about a network that gives you grief. You actively go out and troll for something negative that you can publish about Vodacom, even if it does not affect you directly. Your ASA posts, for example, or your posts on some of the news forums.

Never seen you do this on MTN.

As a "champion of the consumer", why are you not picking up on MTN's patently false claims on their 3.6 service? Instead of counting how many times the word 'Vodacom' appears in a press article.

So you concede that I also post negative things about MTN and Virgin?
[Part of the art of arguing is to give way or concede, without that there is no point]
If I had any evidence about MTN speeds, I would post them.

I don't make things up or manufacture flattering articles. Sometimes there is a need to provide a balance.

Now let's start by asking you why you are so supportive of that company. And you have a loooong history of doing so.

I've been a Vodacom customer from the first day, never had a MTN or other SIM. I spend a lot of money with Vodacom every month, probably >20K / month and would love to see costs come down like everyone else.

I'm a pretty content Vodacom customer. Yet I'm not trolling the web trying to find negative stuff about MTN or the other operators.

I do have a looong history of pointing out your blatant hatred for Vodacom and especially the fact that you're the most BIASED forumite seen here to date, to the point that you got banned from the Vodacom section for what amounted to hate-speech.

Not exactly 'an inflated sense of fairness' now is it?

I remember that as well:p.

I think anyone with a brain can see who you really are. You are clearly trolling to refute any comments people make about your holy Vodacom. When you decide to try all the other mobile networks we can then take your comments seriously. 'TIll then you are on my ignore the *** list. The first BTW>

Well I have used ALL the other networks.

They all have their problems, but I have also noticed you seem to jump on anything that has the word Vodacom on it and try belittle the company and what they are doing.

At least when Vodacom launch something, it is launched, not a paper launch like MTNs HSDPA and 3.6Mbps launches seem to have been.

I think you, like Neo (& clones) are just seeing what I post about Vodacom, rather than all the posts as a whole. Perhaps your own bias is in the way. Also, the other networks & their praise singers don't create a song and dance about any criticism like they were prima-donnas. That inflates any issues.

For example, I've had this sig for a long time. I don't hear you moaning about my views of Virgin.

This thread is getting derailed, so I won't post more.

Why are the MTN forum peeps not posting anything lately? (we need to know which towers are 3.6 and 7.2, please post a bread crumb somewhere)

I'm not particularly religious but praise GOD for that.

Actually went around with an E220 looking for 3.6 and 7.2 with a U740.

Went to MTN's head office in Cape Town (stood outside on the pavement), Century City and the Waterfront.

Nada......

Will try airport..

Someone's not being totally truthful here.

Shame, trying to play the man to try and detract from the topic under discussion (lack of MTN 3.6 coverage). Pathetic.

I've got the devices, buddy of mine has the MTN contract. I've been helping him find these elusive 3.6 (or 7.2 if you believe the MTN ads in the Sunday newspapers) towers.

So far, without any success.

I noticed that in their ads they don't say the service is only available to a select few (and even these are not published), so I suggest you engage your "elevated sense of fairness" and do your normal "Let's report them to the ASA" song and dance. ;)
