vodacom cheats on new price for data

someone please help me understand this

old vodacom data bundle price R389 for 2.3 gig = 0.1691 censt per mb
new vodacom data bundle rates R369 for 2 gig = 0.1845 censt per mb

so how is this cheaper please help im realy lost regarding this. all i see is they rename their dundle size and makes it on the eye looks cheaper but if you work this out its not so vodacom ripes us off even more.

Why has vodacoms prepaid data prices increased?

Wanted to load some data and now see vodascum has changed their bundles/prices.

Used to get either the standard once-off 1.2GB for R289 or the 2.3GB for R389.

Old:
1.2GB for R289 (289/1200 = 0.24083 cents per MB)
New:
1GB for R279 (279/1000 = 0.279 cents per MB)


Old:
2.3GB for R389 (389/2300 = 0.16913 cents per MB)
New
2GB for R369 (369/2000 = 0.1845 cents per MB)

I thought they were supposed to be cutting the price of data??!!

Yeah, I saw this too Very very bad move from Vodacom. We must make as much noise as we can about this. Every SA citizen should be made aware of the VODACOM data price increase!

I think you guys are comparing the wrong packages. You should be looking at the next up package perhaps.

gig 1.2 now is 1.5

So it will look like this

gig 1.2 = 0.240
gig 1.5 = 0.212

?

I think the point OP is trying to make is that the per mb prices have dropped when you look at their new packages, but your still have to pay more ..
If you want to pay the same amount of cash (or less) you actually loose out! Since then the per mb price actually increase...

Same problem with the 500 MB that i cant have,,i just use it for my sgs2 as i have cellC for laptop and adsl for home
i will definetly port to cellC when my contract with vodacom is up

No "bra", your pricelist is wrong.

On standard once-off 2.3GB data bundle I paid R389 not R449...

yeah it's terrible. I used to buy a 1.2GB bundle for R289 and use it for 2 months. now i can either buy a 1GB bundle for R279 (which costs too much compared to 1.2GB for R289) or a 1.5GB for R319 which is way more than i need.
