Vodacom contract can't buy data

Is anyone having problems buying data on their Vodacom account. When using the app or the website I get a message saying "Unfortunately you do not have privileges to purchase on account and can only buy bundles using a bank card or credit card." I've always been able to buy data before. I tried *111# and get a message saying I'll be informed if the purchase was successful but nothing happens.

I have the same issue.
When I call vodacom they say that this cannot be done online or via app, but u have to call them to do it.
For me, *111# always works though

As Airwolf said, Vodashop is your best bet.
 
I have read what you sad, i have also vodacom and can't buy direct so i have to use the

App to buy data if i want data, it is better to buy off my phone than to go to an vodashop everytime i want data.

Ok when was the last time you tried buying data with the app.
Got *111# to work. Just think it's dumb that they have features that you can't use.
 
It is why im on contract, they just add the amount i buy, to my end of month bill, i haven't used the app this month .

i am also unable to buy 20 Gigs from the Vodacom website when using a Cheque Card
 
Yeah dunno what the heck is going on with vodacom, for the first time in months after being really impress with them they have disappointment me in such a big way that I'm not going to renew my contract when it comes up for renewal.

Being a business and on a business contract I honestly do not have the time to visit vodacom shops or phone stupid customer service to help with something that worked perfectly and where vodacom just simply screwed it up.

After visiting a shop they told me they have no idea why vodacom has disabled top-ups on my business contract and that if I wanted to top-up I have to email my business letter to customer support where I informed them I want to to-up.

Customer Support the idiots employeed by vodacom told me to put my simcard into a cellphone and use the app or *111# when I told them and I have to add this is the ppl suppose to work with the business accounts that the sim will not work in a simcard because that simcard is hard locked to the vodacom router and even LTE tower so just said ok sir and putt the phone down bye bye 30 minutes waiting on help and we where not cutt off call went thru to the rating system pathetic.

Last ditch effort today I went onto the website logged into my account and Create a new service request, and to my absolute amazement when I pressed submit I got informed sorry the request was not submitted please try again or call support and everything I just typed was gone.

So in reality I have 5gb left and I know I'm gonna run out of data, sending wife to mtn today to buy me 6gb for R99 which they have on promotion in store.

Thanks vodacom for your absolute crap service, being in a secluded area it really sucks when only two operators have LTE in my area, I saw Telkom laying down fibre or are busy with that but it does not look like they gonna do the whole neighboorhood they basically just have fibre at the first row of houses at the start of the street and the rest of the neighborhood is only allowed to look at the fibre with no option to actually get a fibre connection proudly South Africa and so hilarious actually.

Same here - purchased a data bundle through *111# - no confirmation sms. Repeated the process 3 times nothing again. Called the help line this morning, they confirmed there's an issue with their system - tried to help at least. There is something wrong with their data allocation system since yesterday.
 
Has not worked for several months. Takes me about 3-4 days and 20 calls to get it right. Then I am never sure how many 5GB bundles I have purchased, which inevitably ends in another fight. I think just do it so they can cash in on out of bundle rates.

Said goodbye to this when I got the Telkom LTE uncapped package.
 
yea i am going to say good bye to vodacom when my contract ends, i have had enough.... for 3 months i have not been able to get 4G now i have been billed for 1gig that i, 3 days later, have still not received..... i am sick of this ***** now
