Vodacom Data is so crap

Hi everyone

I just want to find out does anyone else have the problem with vodacom's Data(3G Dongle) that the network runs fine and then suddenly just stops downloading and uploading. THe network signal stays fine the network activity just comes to a complete stop then after about 1min it comes back on again and works fine

This makes no sense!, I worked with 8ta for 2 months in the same location same times the only difference was 8ta actually worked the whole time. So no it's not because it is wireless it is because of a provider not living up to the contracts they provide. People that just assume that's how it should work doesn't help either because they just accept the crap service that is provided.

I know wireless ping is higher than a adsl line but can still stay stable and not very from 100 to 1000 within 2 pings.

My 8ta does that every now and then, not really when I'm gaming but while surfing it does tend to cut out a bit. Re-installing the software seemed to help for a while.

I have for a long time now noticed that my data speed grinds to a halt every half hour, exactly on the hour and on the half hour.

This lasts for about 3 minutes and happens on MTN, Voda and Cell C and only happens when using Google Chrome...works OK with IE 8 (Bleeigh!!) though. So this is definitely a Chrome problem and yet I have completely disabled Chrome doing any updates etc.

Very weird as I cannot see any online activety....seems to be built into Chrome. I have asked around about this problem but have now just got used to it.

Just mentioning this as maybe something similar could be happening here in this post:wtf:

That's why gamers will always choose ADSL over wireless... Higher latency and random disconnections etc

It might not be how it's supposed to work but that's how it works.

I've been using 8ta for 2 years. 13mb download/ 3. 5 upload and bout 35ms pings.
Cellc is slower, doesn't lose connection as much but it still does. Both do it randomly. How many times I've lost fifa games cause of wireless:banghead:
