My My GIG Two contract ends next month.

Currently I'm paying R449.00pm for this, but does the amount lower after April 2009 to R389.00pm)?

On this site (http://www.vodacom.co.za/services/mobile_data/vodacom_what_cost.jsp)there are 3 bands :

*24 month contract prices (R449 and R1,20 OOB)
*Month-to-Month Data Bundles for Contract Subscribers (R389 and R1,20 OOB)
*Once Off Data Bundles for Contract Customers (R389 and 19c OOB)

I'm obviously on the 24 month contract prices until April, but hope to go to Month-to-Month Data Bundles for Contract Subscribers automatically.

Rather phone 155 and confirm.

Might be better to migrate to a top-up contract and then convert the time to bundles if bill shock is an issue for you. Otherwise just go pre-paid.

What modem do you have? Maybe you could upgrade to a new UPA modem?

Vodacom has launched its new data tariffs today (05.04.2009). The new tariffs can be viewed at the link below:

http://www.vodacom.co.za/services/vodacom_broadband/cost.jsp

There are now 2 classes of tariff available :

Broadband Standard (With HSDPA 3.6 and HSUPA free, IB rate does not equal OB Rate)
Broadband Advanced (With HSDPA 7.2 and HSUPA free, IB rate = OB Rate)

For both classes of tariff above, you are now also able to carryover any unusued data to the next month.

Dolby, upgrading your contract to MyGig 2 Advanced will enable you to get a new 7.2 capable modem, whereas month-to-month does not qualify for a new device. Hope this helps.:)

As vodacom3G has mentioned below, it would be best to call 155 regarding migration rules which kick in upon expiration of your current contract.
