Vodacom, Deezer music streaming deal

Well that's of no use - nothing but a free 1 month subscription

Meh...

They should of rather reduced the monthly subscription for their clients

This all seems a bit pointless. If you have a Deezer Premium account, you can share it over all your devices anyway. You can also sync music to any of these devices, so you can then continue listening without being connected to the internet.

So, connect at home on your ADSL and sync to your phone...

Exactly.

Comes in pretty handy when you wanna listen to music at the gym and the signal is non-existent.

Last time I checked only one of those devices can play music at any given moment. Excluding of course those with music synced for offline listening.

Deezer is great, been using it for over a year now. Wouldn't touch it on a mobile network though.

Why would you wanna listen from the website and the phone app at the same time? My brain con't even focus on browsing forum and watcing TV properly. :wtf:

Deezer works well on the cell networks as it buffers well in advance. obviously if you know what you like it's better to sync the music to your phone though.

Nothing interesting if Vodacom is not subsidising the data. One month free trial doesn't mean much. Deezer themselves had a rather better deal that I took, been paying R30 for the last 4 months or so and will only start paying the R60 after 6 months IIRC. Moving along

Not sure then what the problem is? Firstly I wouldn't have the need to listen to 2 devices simultaneously, but as you also correctly mentioned, you could do it if one device contained synced music. It also works great over mobile network, especially in Europe where bandwidth is free for all practical purposes.

Deezer is a great music platform and less hassles than Spotify.

Was referring to the sharing of the account across multiple devices mentioned above

Normal data charges will apply and the one month free offer is available from 9 October.

FAIL.

They had a golden opportunity to put a Deezer server in there datacenter and then heavily discount the data charges due to the saving.

But as per the Vodacom norm, its not about moving the savings over to the end user, but rather grabbing as much money as possible, for the least amount of effort, they can keep there one month free, OOB bait, thank you very much.

You can download the songs to your phone when you at home on your wifi.

But i can allready do that for free ;)

The whole point of having a streaming service is to have access to content when ever you feel like it, having to plan in advance and download , defeats the purpose.
