HI guys,

If you remember VC had a 082 dialup no a few years back. You did not need an ISP and got charged for the call.
I want to know :
(a) if this is still running
(b) will free Vodacom minutes be used when dialling to this no ( i remember that free minutes could be used as it is a CSD call )
(c) if available, what is the number and what is the username/password and other settings

anyone who has info please input...
V3g: maybe u can confirm the fastest?

thanks guys

If they are running HSCSD it depends on the time slots, if you get 4 slot you will get 57.6 kbit/s which is the limit i think.

thanks...i actually meant: V3g can be the fastest in replying to those questions...

in anycase, regarding speed, i think the max is 45kbps - anything to use up 800 free off peak min ( 3 contracts )

found this so far:

Phone Number - Enter the PAYU (Pay As You Use) POP number +27822455777
Username - yebo082
Password - yebo082

Vodacom 3g please confirm whether free min will be used or not..
thanks

If I were you, I would check my free minutes balance, phone the number and listen to the screeching for a minute or 2, hang up, and check the free minutes balance again. If it has been reduced, obviously free minutes apply. If not, then you have to worry about a R5 call.

Just a suggestion, use it,don't use it...

Mailed customercare. This is what they said:
Thank you for your email communication to Vodacom.

Please note that internet dial up is a slow, outdated, costly means of connecting to the internet.

Below are the answers to your questions:

1-You are still able to use csd to connect to the internet.
2-free minutes do not apply as it is a VAS call
3-The number is +27822491000 password : Vodacom user name : Vodacom

Should you have any further queries, please contact us via e-mail at [email protected].

data calls are switched diffrently on the network AFAIK - V3G can confirm - so as i see it, they would know its a data call - infact consider HSCSD, uses 4 slots -obviously VC would know

V3g: pls confim is : is that 082 no a VAS call or all data calls are VAS
