Vodacom enters broadcasting and multimedia

Supersport Action - Not sure which one this is
ActionX - Watch from time to time (Criminal Minds is good)
FashionTV
MTV Base
BBC Food - Watch occasionally
K-TV - Disney would be better
National Geographic - Watch
Sky News - Watch
CNN - Why bother
CNBC Africa - Again
SABC 1
SABC 2
SABC 3 - Occasionally
e-TV - Again
MNet Series - Ok
Hallmark - Ok

All in all, not too bad for R139. The only other channels we watch are MNet, MM1, MM2 and Sport. Oh, and a couple of those Crime... channels. So we are paying an extra R300 for basically 4 channels.

Quality of channels is key.

The SABC and e , everyone gets. Fashion TV is pretty dire and in low resolution + one news channel is more than enough.

Movie channels are also important ...
I've never been impressed with Hallmark. I'd rather watch the classics on TCM.

I don't understand why subscribers have to choose between Kyknet (Afrikaans channel) and movie channel Hallmark PLUS MnetSeries.

This must be insulting for Afrikaners who would like to watch some movies!

answer please , is this offer in addition to DSTV premium and any other previous offer? Suggestion. Please provide link to mentioned services on all bulletins. Many thanks

If DSTV really wants to gain market share, they should offer each channel seperately and let the consumer decide which one he/she wants, maybe with a Supersport and MNet the base channels and reduction per extra channel, i.e. R100 for the first, add R60 for the second, add R40 for the 3rd, R20 for the forth and 5th, and R10 per channel thereafter. That way I only pay for what I watch

I started a thread on their forums asking for choice and it was a no go with some pretty lame excuses why they can't. I doubt they're gonna listen to their customers now..

Given the rapid advancements in internet speeds and potential increase in IPTV offerings, I guess their business model will only last another 10, maximum 15 years. By that time I will be able to purchase only what I want to watch when I want to watch it over the net at a fraction of the cost of DSTV. They may delay the process somewhat through legislation and whatnot, but it will happen. And this will not be limited to simply channel selection, but actual programme / episode selection.

Channel 30 (apparently)
You might have to rescan.

What do they show ... anyone's guess. No info on the Vodacom site or on dstv.com. >Pig in a poke :D<

It is channel 20. Thats what it says when you press the info button on 20. Its the Mosaic channel for 21-24. So if you have a MASSIVELY BIG tv, this will be great. Meaning on that boquet you have an extra 4 sport channels. You can even get the sound for the channel you want to watch.

Now i've heard a Action and a Active. Not so sure anymore?
