On the 6th of October Vodacom activated my 100/100 Fiber on Frogfoot Infrastructure. Prior to this I was with VOX on the same Frogfoot infrastructure so apart from VOX Releasing the ONT and it being Provisioned for Vodacom not much has changed. I still have the same ONT and Cables and Routers.
After a few frustrating phone calls I managed to obtain the PPPoE Details so that I can use my own Mikrotik Routers on my already properly configured setup. (The Vodacom H500-S is simply too basic for my needs and Vodacom wont give me the proper login's for the Router)
All that said I got the PPPoE Details on the 6th and punched it onto my Mikrotik and we were off and away. The line ran very well and actually ended up syncing at a 180/180ish speeds despite the fact that I only ordered a 100/100 setup.
All was well until 20h30 on the 12th of October. The line went down and the issues started... I hopped onto my router and noticed that the link dies intermittently and by intermittently I mean between every 2 and 5 minutes...
With this depressing information on hand I phoned Vodacom to begin the eternal struggle to get this resolved. I obtained an SR number and had to listen to moronic things like DHCP issues on the Vodacom Router (which if you pay attention you will see I do not even use.. Just an example of the lack of trained staff I am forced to deal with)
Point is it is now Day 7 - I have a service Reference and my internet is still unusable. Is there anyone on here that can assist me or at least put me in contact with someone at Vodacom that knows the Difference between TCP and UDP......
I have phoned the 082 1904 every single day in an attempt to get this resolved and got absolutely nowhere. As i said above the only tech that came out did the DHCP change on the router I do not use even though I explained to him that I do not use the router and that It is not the problem......
If anyone has any power over at vodacom or frogfoot please reach out to me!
