Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago, I got a software update OTA, which was released by Vodacom. This installed a number of Vodacom programs which I can't delete. Since then my phone is extremely slow, to the point where I want to drive over the stupid thing.

Anyone else noticed this, and what did you do to fix it?

Thanks

I actually found my bosses old phone to be faster after it's last update.
Can't you go into applications and disable what you do not want running?

Custom ROM is a solution. Some advice also if you plan to get a new device later is to check out online shops like http://excellular.co.za/ the devices come a bit cleaner with no service provider crap apps but of course you'll still get the touchwiz stuff

Unfortunately had the same problem, drove me insane!
Tried clearing RAM, disabling apps and so on.
Perhaps back up your stuff, do a factory reset and reinstall your stuff and see how it runs then.

Will probably do a restore and a custom rom ... damn, haven't updated custom roms since I had my BBs :)

I had the same problem when I upgraded my Note II. There is a technique I did that helped a lot. Basically I changed the animation scales in the developer settings.
I've described it in more detail on my blog if you want to have a look. http://markronthego.blogspot.com/2014/04/i-upgraded-my-note-2-to-android-43.html

Otherwise you can simply google changing the animation scales and enabling developer option and you should come right.

I still did a factory reset as well and that solved the problem 100%.

Without reading your blog, this sounds more like treating the symptoms and not the cause?

You really don't have to go that extreme.

Do a factory reset, clear the cache, and disable any apps you want in the Application Manager.

Personally I have disabled all Samsung apps on my phone, even the Samsung Push service. :D

My S2 runs like an absolute dream.
