Vodacom in talks with Naspers: report

Was wondering why it's suddenly gone so cloudy, that much evil in one place has to play havoc on the weather

“With connection speeds rising and data prices continuing to fall, the delivery of music and video content via mobile is becoming increasingly viable,” Vodacom spokesman Richard Boorman told Bloomberg in an e-mail.

Streaming content over mobile at current Vodacom rates is a really monumentally stupid idea.

The most expensive content on the most expensive network! :wtf:

@JvZ: During these sorts of talks does the party on whose network these calls terminate get paid by the party making the call?

MWEB will be quite bummed if they have to pay 50c per minute to Telkom to complain about the 6c tariff.

:D

Doing the Netflix thing on ADSL - never watched a second of TopTV! But yes, I get your point!

Weird question. :)

Weird question. :)

I had a feeling of whimsy come over me but imagined AKC phoning to complain about the soft handover issue and VC management throwing in the towel eventually after having calls drop the whole time; or MWEB realizing the error of their ways when their VoIP traffic starts getting throttled

its the flu on this side :(

by red I assume you mean wine and not some special corporate koolade that staff are support to drink ;)
but more to the topic I am not understanding what is actually in mind here beyond what already exists with DStv mobile - I understand the parties being "in talks" but the article reads like it was written before the introduction of the drifta
