I've been running my home fibre with VOX as ISP under Vodacom Home Fibre as infrastructure for about 2 years. Nothing to complain about the infrastructure or about the VOX service during all this time.

And browsing around the internet I came across Vodacom Fibre with a special of R551 a month on the 100/100 mbps for 12 months.
That's a deal, I thought. Vodacom Fibre line with Vodacom ISP... what could go wrong...

Everything went wrong! :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I cancelled the service with VOX in February to be effective at the end of March. I followed up with Vodacom every week during march to make sure the transition was smooth and to be done on the 1st April. I was dreaming!

After every agent on the line promised that I could do a self service installation using my own router and they even gave me the PPPoE credentials, at the end I couldn't do it.... No, they had to send me a technician. Ok, send me the technician. ah... the technician will contact you in the next 48 hours.
48 hours after and complaining about it, then it was... technicians will come to install your fibre, it will take a few weeks. ahahaha.... But I have a fibre ready and a ONT in place!!! I put the order in February!

Ah, "the network dept need to activate the port"... but the technician will come to you... after the fibre has been installed. But the bloody fibre is installed and is active! ONT is ON! ah.... these guys are the worst. :X3:

After more than a week without Vodacom being unable to activate their 'own" line, "voetsek".

I contacted VOX again to reactivate my line, which have to be considered a "new" line. But they expedite it and a few days after I was up & running again. :D:D:D

Conclusion: Stay away from Vodacom ISP. Their fibre is OK (at least you do not have to deal with them directly).

Yeah Vodacom as a Fibre ISP is horrible.
There provided router will block any DNS request to anything like google or cloudflare if you try to directly use that DNS instead of the router.
