Vodacom Linkbook review

If you don't own a computer @ home, you really can't get much better value as this all in one solution to get connected.:D
 
Usefull for emails....may as well get a Blackberry instead
 
This machine is awesome!!

The only people who require super powerful notebooks are computer gamers. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these machines. Just imagine the possibilities ! I'm pretty sure that with some tweaking, the default OS can be replaced with another Linux variant, maybe running a light weight desktop such as XFCE or Ubuntu Netbook version.

The machine kind of reminds of the compact machines used in the "Hackers" movie. When real work needs to be done, a flashy OS, desktop backgrounds etc. just don't matter, for many of us, productive work requires a Linux Shell.

I already run XFCE on mine didnt even have to install anything :) check here ...

400mhz and 256mb... don't spose It would be a good idea to try and install another linux on it.... XP would run tho :P
 
:wtf: The desktop style and the general user interface is ANNOYING :sick::mad:

But with a little bit of hacking this cheap little thing can be turned into something better :)
Im not sure if XP will run tho... :confused:

Vodacom are such money grabbers when it comes to the bandwidth charges :twisted:
