Hi everyone,
So I recently purchased an Apple Smart Watch Series 7 (Cellular + GPS). I was happy to hear Vodacom does issue eSIM's to prepaid customers, but it looks like mobile service support on the smart watch is not supported for prepaid customers. I see there is the OneNumber service which is typically used for these kinds of things, but it looks like it is only supported for contract customers :-(
Is it correct to assume the OneNumber service is only supported for Vodacom contract customers? Or is there some other setting on the smart watch or phone I need to check? I am guessing Vodacom does not have plans to bring OneNumber support for prepaid customers. I would consider taking out a contract so my smart watch and phone can work seamlessly, but that doesn't make sense for me since I could be leaving ZAF soon, and that cancelling contracts at Vodacom usually attracts a 75% cancellation fee (number of remaining months x 75%).
