Took my BB in for repairs (yes, I know it's a BB... so not surprising it needed fixin' :p) 3 weeks ago to Vodacom Pavilion. The lady who helped told me 2-3 weeks, (3 weeks was the absolute max she said) and that I would get an sms confirming that it had gone in.

First problem - never got an sms, phoned store and they say "there was a problem" with the system and a lot of repairs that week didnt receive the confirmations.

Now it's been 3 weeks and NOBODY can tell me where my phone is. I phone the store and they very rudely and abruptly tell me "It hasn't come back" - he never even asked my name, phone number, phone type, nothing. Just said "Not possible that it's back here yet, or we would've told you"

So I politely say I was told 2-3 weeks, and he continues to be very abrupt and says "Not possible, repairs are 3-4 weeks". I said, "If it isn't back next week, will you change the goal posts again and say 5-6 weeks?" - this is when he got really rude, "Well how do you know it won't be back next week" - ummmm, not what I said genius.

So try calling 111, and they can't tell me anything as they don't keep records of repairs, and I have to deal with the store, which were so rude earlier. Brilliant.

Will I ever see my phone again? All I want is some information on where it is, what is wrong with it, when can I expect it back? And all I am getting is rather rude attitudes.

Also a little honesty about how long repairs take when you hand the phone in would be nice, and keeping customers updated!

I know others who have had replacement BB's within 3 days after sending their broken ones in :( Yet here I sit in the dark about what is happening with mine.

Vodacom phone repairs are a complete joke

I voided the warranty on my brand new phone and fixed it myself so that I don't have to deal with those incompetent muppets with their archaic processes

Edit: try tweeting @Vodacom111
They'll most likely sort you out

But they're still twats

Did they give you paper work with a job number when you checked your phone in? If they did then you might be able to check the status by logging into your account at www.vodacom.co.za and clicking on "my services" on the menu on the left and then clicking "vodacom repairs" in the expanded menu.

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I took my 4s in for repairs to Vodacare at Vodaworld.

I got confirmation on Monday that a replacement had been issued and would arrive later that afternoon and that I would be notified via sms once it had arrived.

Still waiting.....

Thanks Gambit, sadly all I have is a "Manual Device Book-In Confirmation" and when I try your solution, just tells me teh number on that is invalid.
