Vodacom please implement data usage rules

I have a 2GB 3G account in my tablet. I use it for emails and some browsing. I rarely, if ever, go over my 2GB.
For some reason my Google plus auto backup settings changed, I'm not sure how but it was definitely not planned, and all the video and image content on the tablet backed up to Google. I went from an average 2GB per month usage to 17GB in 2 days and an additional R15k added to my bill.

Very expensive mistake that will take me sime time to pay back. Money I can not afford to lose.

This brings me to the point of this post:
Why has Vodacom not implemented some form of irregular and fraudulent use rules engine? If a user goes from averaging 2GB per month for a year and then suddenly goes up to 10 times that alarms should sound and usage should be either blocked or throttled until the user validates the extra usage or buys an additional data bundle. What person in their right mind is going to willingly go so far out of bundle?
Implementing this type of rules engine is not overly complex and is prevalent in the banking industry. I see no reason why it could not be implemented in this type of environment other than the fact that Vodacom will make less money from suckers like me. Or is that exactly the point?

I'd also like to mention the fact that out of bundle costs are rediculous but that has been done to death.

Regards
MM

Why would they implement that if they can milk you and every other poor sod for every cent they have? This is a major loophole, and these ****ers are laughing all the way to the bank.

And this is precisely why I refuse to look at anything 3/4G.. I was burnt at the beginning of this month on my iPhone. Logged a complaint, still waiting >> same story though, I changed nothing - but something tripped in the background somewhere, and 2GB's gone...

FORTUNATELY, with Wifi at home, I can run "pay-as-you-go" Data on my phone - so when it's gone, it's gone, until I top-up... I don't plan on changing that going forward - the thought of a R15k "suplise" for something I didn't even consciously do - they can go and get stuffed...

It's beyond ridiculous. And it's evidence of the law/procedure not yet catching up with the reality of every-day life. But, as mentioned, since they get to rip us a new one - don't expect to see any of that changing in my lifetime...

If vodacom implemented a system like Telkom Mobile to ensure no unapproved OOB, they would definitely get me to sign a contract. As it stands now, there is no chance.

Also went OOB for the first time this month on my dads PC, 2 CellC 200 Meg bundles gone and now the 300 Meg just vanished.
Went over by 150 Meg.

Wonder if I had the same problem, because that's abnormally high for my parents only browsing only property24 (checked history).
Just cancelled all contracts to never have to worry about OOB again, but it happened anyways...

At this point going a cell contract is insanely dangerous.

@VodacomData,

Please can you explain why I don't get an SMS anymore when my data is about to run out? Also, why is it only on 3MB? On LTE it takes like 2 seconds to go through that.

Why can i not login to a Vodacom portal and set up SMS alerts?

Why can I not have my internet data CUT when i do not have a data bundle active so that it does not eat into my airtime?

Make having a data bundle mandatory. ****! R2/mb. Bunch of ****ing lying, slimy, scheming ****tards. God ****ing dammit! I work god damn ****ing hard for my money and you c u n t s don't give a **** because you enjoy your ****ing money.

/rant.
