Hey guys,

So I pre-registered for the iPhone 4s. I was told it would be delivered during this week. I called this morning and not only does Vodacom not have a clue, the couriers have not received the stock.

So I ask you this... If pre-registration cannot guarantee you the product 4 days after the official launch date, then what is the point? I could have walked into a store over the weekend and done my upgrade if I wasn't stupid enough to pre-register...

Now I am forced to wait for this delivery.

Not very impressed right now. Any pre-registration receive anything yet?

I pre-registered. Nobody phoned me. So i just went to vodaworld on friday and got it there.

Iphone4S

Does anybody know where in the centurion area can find stock on a new contract of the iPhone4s?

I also pre-registered and was called. BUT my renewal was not logged for some odd reason. I had to call the upgrades department and do it again and I seriously hope that I haven't dropped down the long list of new users! #frustrated

Did you guys book for upgrades or new contracts?

Vodacom basically just let new contracts go through on the pre-registration screen.

They (via Twitter - look for @vodacom or @vodacom111) also said the form was "pre-registration" - not pre-ordering. Pretty useless and cheapscate if you ask me.

So yes - only way to have gotten the phone so far was to either take out a new contract, or if you pitched up at Vodaworld last week Thursday to get one. I was told on that night by a rep from Metro that earlier the evening Vodacom's system still didn't allow upgrades to the 4s, but they sorted it out. I guessed Vodacom realised they would have a horde of angry existing customers on their doorstep if they didn't allow upgrades.

Pretty much everybody who got a iPhone 4S on Thursday evening either upgraded from a previous iPhone, or from a Blackberry (from what I observed).

VC claims that they have contacted 70% of the people who pre-registered. But that was a typo. What they really meant to say was "We've contacted 70% of our friends and relatives" ...

The article on MyBroadband said 70% of NEW contracts... not everybody who pre-registered.

just FYI, yesterday i went to the vodashop in menlyn, my mom and sister wanted to upgrade to the 4S. they tell us they have a 500 people waiting list. Ok so we go to the vodacom 4u shop literally 20 meters from the vodashop and they have plenty of stock. black, white no problems. Apparently vodaworld has plenty of stock as well.

Interesting. I am probably still on that waiting list - perhaps I should give them a call and cancel my order.
