Hi Guys,

Recently got an Apple Watch and want to activate the OneNumber service, unfortunately I'm on Prepaid,

What's the quickest way to migrate from PrePaid to PostPaid Topup? Can it be done online?

Dreading going into a store :-(

@Ockie Hi - I seen you are the resident Vodacom expert, are you perhaps able to advise me once you return to the forums(Being your Bday and all), also Happy Birthday to you!

I see on the site, it says, if I want to convert, I can apply for new contract and indicate the number to transfer during the application process, but I went as far as inputting bank details already and I've seen no option like this, so stopped in case I make k@k.

You can do it over the phone. They will send you a new SIM which you have to give them RICA docs before the courier will hand it over and activate the new SIM.

*Update - Pushed further, got the summary page to "Submit Application" - Technical Error Occurred :-(

Also, still didn't get any option to transfer prepaid number...

@Ockie - Can't seem to IM you, so hoping you see this :)

Was hoping they use my existing SIM and just internally transfer the number over to contract... I'm leaving in a couple days for holiday, so I'm worried now, if I proceed, courier will deliver and I'll be away...

OK, well just phone them. And explain, that's the easiest way.

Howzit. I do recommend going into a store. I have just had so many people complaining to me about the online journey not going well. And when that happens getting it solved is a nightmare and I cannot help with that.

Go to your store and do it there is my recommendation. You will need ID, three month bank statement and proof of address.

Thank you for Bday wishes.

Store will convert existing sim into contract. No need for a new one unless it is really old.

I've been communicating with them the entire day, and getting mixed answers, and then I get errors from the website hence me turning to Ockie

You a legend, will rather do that, with my luck, the online stuff will k@k out, and then I'm in worse position... Thanks..

But he wants to avoid going into the store.
I do, so was hoping the online stuff worked as I was told by the Twitter team, but I'm now worried about issues... and I can't leave without my number working...

Also wanted to avoid the stores, since I've had issues with my personal docs being handled incorrectly at stores in the past and contracts taken out on my name... so was hoping if everything is online, less risk of that...

Ja...so did all the others that did things via online or telephonic and then message me when things go wrong and they can't get hold of anyone in the call centre to help them.
Went to the store today, was sorted within 30 min, same number, no sim swap.. thanks for that... Just noticed however there's a child number now active for my account as well, can you maybe check what this is for me?

If you could send me a PM, I'll share the number with you please @Ockie

I can only access business account numbers. Did you take a two phone deal?

Nope, no phones..just the contract... when I dial the number... my primary number phone rings..

So
I’m assuming this is maybe how the OneNumber system works?

The watch is assigned the esim with the child number.

No..OneNumber means you are supposed to have the same number on both devices.
That’s concerning. Also what’s weird is when I dial it. It rings on my primary number?

Any Vodacom representatives still on the forum that can help consumers?

I've had the one number service activated for over a year now and also received a separate number for the watch.

I assume they use this number to link it to the main account cell number.
