Vodacom - Prepaid to Contract

I've had the one number service activated for over a year now and also received a separate number for the watch.

I assume they use this number to link it to the main account cell number.

That’s what I assumed as well but @Ockie through me out.

Did you have to do anything fancy to get the watch side working.

Mine shows connected. Enabled alles but dialling out failed immediately. Doesn’t seem like the internet connection works either

Apologies. I might be wrong. I don't really work a lot with OneNumber.

I have a Samsung but from what I remember everything should work automatically.

I'm really interested to know how you sorted this out as I cannot get anyone at customer support (telephonically) or Vodacom stores (tried 3) to make it work. It seems to work (apple watch in Mobile Services says Connected, Vodacom, etc) but when turning the phone off, the watch doesn’t ring when called, and i cannot send SMSes from my phone anymore.. can still receive. I'm on full contract (had to do this to make it work, as previously stated, because top-up contracts don't support the OneNumber). I have now deactivated the OneNumber again in order to be able to send SMSes, but would really like to get it working as I bought the Apple Watch with cellular for this reason.

Once I saw this and the Vodacom mobile service showed connected, switched my phone off and the watch worked as expected.

I did however have to "reset network settings" once on my iPhone to get the Mobile service on the watch to show as eligible.

So Im on a top-up contract and it's working fine. In the end I didnt do much, just went through the little process that asks you to login to Vodacom and activate the service. After some time a new number appeared on my profile on the Vodacom app.

So must the sim be a physical sim to activate the one number feature?

I need to go there tomorrow and get a new contract and do a sim port as well

Not sure about that requirement, but my sim is physical.
