It will probably so small that it will be woth over looking. Or it will only apply to their 200GB bundles. Vodacom internet is a ripoff and I will stick by that until they get competitive, like 5c/MB OOB.

been disappointed so many times now, I'm cynical of any "good" news.

It's been almost a full decade and a half of disappointment after disappointment in the telecoms sector, and yet people get so excited so easily at every willy-nilly comment made by the [-]dictators[/-] officials at these telecoms companies.

Every single time they get us all excited and then knock the wind out of our sails.

IMHO, the last real hope of lower telecoms costs rests entirely with the landing of the SEACOM cable in the middle of this year. All the other fluff is just jockying for position and flooding the news folks with PR.

To be brutally honest, I don't think the consumers will see that "massive drop in broadband costs" that has been punted since the idea of SEACOM was first proposed either. None of the telecoms providers are even thinking of getting the ball rolling with regard to cutting costs and pre-empting the cable landing. In the end we're all just setting ourselves up for massive disappointment. Again. and again. and again.

I also don't understand it. Especially with Neotel and their Neoflex packages.

They could offer Uncapped for R999 now. Or Even R899. Take a loss for a few months, then when seacom lands they have a whole bunch of customers that won't switch because it's just too much hassle.

It would make even more sense for mtn or vodacom because they lock people into contracts.
