I had this happen for 2 weeks(blocked number though), when they ask "is this your vodacom number sir/miss?" just say "no" and hangup after they are silent and confused, no more harassment.. worked for me.

Been happening to me as well recently, but I'm with MTN. As soon as I answer the call, it is disconnected.

I have had this problem on and off for quite some time. I have a workaround, well, for android phones at least. I'm sure that you will be able to find apps for other phones that also does call rejecting, but on Android it's built-in. From Settings go to Call settings, select Call rejection, then Auto reject list, and the select "Unknown". Your phone will not even ring if the number is hidden, I have tested this and have been using it for spammers, only noticed the "Unknown" entry today

Keep in mind that certain apps for smart phones uses very dodgy banner ads and marketing tricks. It is not impossible that some app was installed giving your phone number to some random marketing agency at some random destination ...
