been using debit orders for well over 8 years. Only company I had an issue with them was iburst. but then that was the iBurst accounts department being crap. if you deal with reputable companies, debit orders pose no threat to you.

EDIT: Good luck buying a house/car without a debit order if you can't pay for it in cash.

yeah .. debit orders are great.. i'm not a customer of Cell C but they still debit money from my account when they feel like it!

And they wont be able to do this with your credit card details?

Once again, the dodgy part here is the company, not the financial instrument.
