Vodacom set to launch 5G soon

When and if this happens...let's see how they compare to Rain, price wise and performance.

Not holding thumbs...birds of a feather these lot.

Not sure about rain, liquid telecom has its own fibre network so performance should be up to par.

It's going to be the exact same data packages that they currently have, just faster speeds. They'll probably charge a R100 to R200 fee to upgrade your current sim to a 5G capable sim.

Which are? Not with LT currently.

Just seen their package prices and speeds. Absolutely crazy speeds - up to 5Mbps in 2020!?? :D
Say no more.

  • Bundled

  • 100 GB data per month

I do not think any of the 5G deals from Vodacom will be cheaper than current deals. FUP will probably be something ridiculous

Does anyone know how much spectrum Liquid Telecom has in its 5G band?

I wouldnt put it past vodascum to have upto 100mbps, 200mbps and then 100GB and 100GB night packages

I hope SADV drops their prices as 5G uptake starts (5G deployments have far greater penetration so real competition for Fixed Fiber)

And what about CellC? With them being basically bankrupt they have no money to deploy 5G services. Meaning they fall even further behind

Cell C can barely maintain signal on their 3G and mobile network, I doubt they will be rolling out 5G
