Thanks for the warning. .... Typical. Acceptance of a prize is now equivalent to subscribing to an unwanted WASP service. So where is Vodacoms commitment to customers having to deliberately opt in?

Is your Vodacom service on a business account by any chance?
there does not seem to be the same facility available to buy extra shakes.
 
If you have two devices linked to one Vodacom account, you only get one shake on one of the devices per day .....

And if you happen to choose the one with a data only card and yo get awarded minutes of SMS's then you just lose the allocation. It does not get credited to the device with minutes and SMS capability.

Brilliant campaign Vodacom, continue to upset your loyal customer base.
 
What information might be available/given away for these kinds of competitions/promos?
Curious what they get out of all of this.

The game is linked to your account, 1 account 1 shake, if they allowed it to be Linked to your device that would make it unfair because that means you can take your SIM Pop into another phone and receive another gift.
 
jissis, I scored 2 minutes vodacom to vodacom for 1 day, 2 minutes!!! Hahahaha I almost died
 
So haven't received any rewards via the app on my iPhone but when using USSD, i get the reward- anyone else experienced the same thing?
 
got 100mins any network for 30days first day.... since then, minor data here and there..

That was the daily game now replaced with this "Shake every day" "game" VC has available via their My Vodacom app. The previous one was in simple terms a variation of a slot machine. This one requires you to shake the mobile device you access it from.

Both forms of this game have a few not so clear "rules" which one only becomes aware of when you "play".

Such as the "rules" of what you can win depend on whether you are a private customer or a business customer. Then there are the rules associated with so-called prizes sponsored by WASPS. Playing the game seems to mean you automatically accept and opt in to whatever the WASPS wants you to opt in for. Prizes for business customers seem to be restricted to data, minute and sms bundles.

This version is really stupid in my opinion. I have already seen someone lose control of their mobile device and watched it go flying through the air in a shopping mall. I can already see VC insurance scheme's reaction. "you were deliberately shaking your phone to play a game?" " Sorry we will not pay out. Insurance cover only applies for normal use of the device" :twisted:
