Vodacom Shake Everyday

Okay so here is where we stand with the CNA voucher after a very eventful evening at CNA Mall of Africa. Terms and conditions of the Shake Everyday CNA vouchers.

The discount voucher cannot be

(1) used to pay an Edcon account;

(2) exchanged for cash;

(3) used to purchase cellular products (handsets and airtime); Laptops, Printers, Digital Devices or Gaming Consoles.

(4) used to purchase gift cards; or

(5) used to purchase 3rd party items such as electricity, DSTV subscriptions, event tickets or other similar items.

CNA refused to apply the 20% discount to my purchase of Rugby 18 Xbox one saying the terms excludes all software, Digital and game discs as well as gaming consoles.

I disputed this saying the terms clearly states it excludes gaming consoles not the actual games as confirmed by the CNA call centre I called before heading towards the store.

The EXTREMELY rude lady said no I need to go out of the store or pay full price of R999 because she will NOT apply the voucher. I told her that they would need to call the police to remove me because I disagree with her on the terms and the fact that the head office call centre agreed with me that it would be fine.

She whatapped the area manger that forwarded the same terms I'm showing her and I told her show me xbox or ps4 or pc games there and she said they fall under gaming consoles...

I refused and she called the manager which told me the same but agreed that the terms does not specifically exclude games and console accessories but it is indeed excluded. Furious because I skipped the prep order at bt games knowing I have this voucher.

He then honored the deal for me but said it is not allowed and taken all my details and would get back to me.

The SUPER RUDE manager when calling the area manager said to him speak to this guy because he doesn't want to understand. Since when do you speak to customers like that?
Also when I was on the phone with the area manager I can hear her in the background saying in Zulu which I can understand saying this white guy wants to force this vodacom voucher when it does not work to get things free....

Anyways I left the store fuming angry but with Rugby 18 in hand and paid only R799 but the way they made me feel like I stole from them. :mad:

Was I being unreasonable? :confused:

Probably

and got 50mb for today.. wow

Yeah same here. Seems that their offerings have been significantly decreased. I used to love the 1gig Deezer for 24 hours, etc etc. Time to uninstall the app it seems. It servers no other purpose for me.

I did at one stage just say let me just pay full price for the item and buy like 5 or 6 monster energy drinks from the fridge there as I'm also collecting the Monster energy can lids for Assassins creed origins and she said ohh sorry yes the voucher also does not apply to consumables like sweats and drinks.....
I asked the lady what does the voucher actually apply to then if everything is excluded. She said only books, stationary and apparel regular price items.

So I'm just curious why the voucher terms just does not state the voucher applies to these items only why list a vague list of exclusions then when you actually try and use the voucher they say it does not apply.

But you phoned the call center and they said yes, so really you did nothing wrong.

I phoned again this morning and they were shocked what I said. They said unless they are referring to something else they don't know why this happened. :confused:

I hope you reported the branch, they made you look like there was something wrong with you in front of others

No don't like that managers attitude and how she treated me having a loud argument in the store so everyone can hear but regional manager to whom I spoke to on the phone was very understanding and even apologized saying he would probably have been just as furious. He was the one that forced her to apply the discount because she was not going to do it and made it very clear to everyone near by.

Won't buy from them again. Menlyn CNA is a better CNA anyways.

I could not agree more, this initiative called Shake Everyday is an absolute joke. No creativity and no imagination for starters, you see your prize beforehand and to date I have only received VC to VC calls - 5 mins and 10 mins and tiny little data prizes of 40mb & 50mb. No option for additional plays. Vodacom has no clue and whomever is responsible for this initiative has no clue on how to bring satisfaction to its loyal clients. Think it's time to change networks, Vodacom are the most expensive and simply don't reward their patrons. Quite frankly, I'm bemused by this excuse for a network.

*111*33# or on the Vodacom app to claim your prize.[/QUOTE]

Absolutely useless and just an irritation.

IF you choose NOT to shake the phone daily, the "allocated prize" remains as is until you do go through this stoopid routine.

Before VC used to continually ask you to do their survey. Now they don't! I wish they would so that I could record my disgust more forcefully.
