Vodacom shuts stores trashed by EFF supporters

Vodacom Group Ltd. is keeping some of its South African franchise stores shut after members of opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters allegedly vandalized outlets in protest of an image of their leaders at an event hosted by the wireless carrier.

In one incident, at its Mall of Africa franchise store in Johannesburg, women were assaulted and goods stolen, the company said in an email.

“There has been no official mandate, request or statement from the EFF to go to Vodacom shops and protest,” said Jossey Buthane, EFF Secretary in the Limpopo province. “This is being done independently by unhappy South Africans. We do understand that the Vodacom stores are owned by individual franchisees, and would therefore look for alternative recourse in this matter.”

O-jeez, did not see that cahmin'

Rile the people up at your rallies and then deny any wrong-doing when they act on it.
Violence is the only language they speak.

I hope these vigilantes have realized how the EFF have distance themselves from their actions in the name of the EFF.

If you smile and chastise your dog in a friendly tone while slyly feeding it treats, it will be happy.

You would think they'd post a public statement condemning this?

Is it Mall of the North or is it Mall of Africa?

These guys are small but are have a big impact.

Common guys, the criminals also need a political party where they are appreciated!! Nobody wants to be left out and with the EFF there's constant opportunities for discounted shopping (aka protest).

That's why I am asking because story says north here it says Africa
Incompetent journalism writing stories without first checking. Every mall is the same in the minds I suppose. I see no indication that there were attacks outside of Limpopo (just some planned for the EC).
