Vodacom signal sucks.

So I've been struggling with my anger inside for a few weeks already and I think it's time to vent.

I got a new Vodacom prepaid sim to use as my primary number, since it saves me money communicating with my lady on Vodacom.

I've had the sim card for a month and each week, 2 or 3 days in the week I have signal issues. Calls dropped, network busy, no network coverage and the list goes on.

Today I received 5 smses that I had missed calls, my phone has full signal and it didn't even ring
I have full HSDPA signal where I live in Nelspruit. This occurred when I was visiting family in other parts of Mpumalanga as well.

I have had more downtime on Vodacom in 4 weeks than I did over 2 years on MTN and 5 months on CellC.

You suck Vodacom.

You should come to Richmond.... You can have full 3G Signal but get very slow speeds, plus you get "you have reached the voice mail box of 08xxxxxxxx" on 6 of 10 calls to people on the vodacom network in Richmond.... I have ported to Cell C and could not be happier!

It's fine VD, I seriously just needed to Vent. My mom in Sabie and my girlfriend in Nelspruit has the same issues, so it's not just me. I'll just wait for Vodacom to sort it out. Thank you.

Tera, rather send VD your details so we can have a look at your problem. It might well be something we can do something about (like a sleeping cell) or, if we can't do something immediately, at least we can give you the details why not.

Any which way, one thing I can assure you, if any subscriber is not getting a good signal, we want to change that. Just not always possible, but you should never be under any doubt that we don't want you to be able to make longs, meaningful conversations and download lots of data.

I'm having the same issues!!

I can't use my cellphone to make any calls because 99% of the time I don't manage to speak for more than 10 seconds before I lose signal. I receive my sms more than 24hours after it was originally sent. That's when I do receive my messages.

Its not my phone as others I know with VC are having the same issues.

Yup. Last week i received about 10 sms's the following day only. Same goes for Network coverage and missed calls. Don't know what is up tbh.

I can surely say that vodacom network is getting bad by the day. My problem is with data. I am using vodacom data from last 4 years. It has been fine until 3 months back. I am also using cell from last 1 year. I compare both of them while i am using SIP(voip) on my phone. What i can say is that cellc is improving(it was bad in the begining for VOIP) and vodacom is getting bad(it was very good 3 months back). i am around 2K's from vodaworld. I am not sure vodacom is blocking VOIP over their network.

thats a fact ! I reported a problem to VC to fix break in 3g connections at certain times, only for VC to go backwards and not give me 3g signal/network at all.
