Looking to see if anyone has some advice as I am desperate!
My wife had a smash and grab on Friday morning and phone got stolen, blocked the SIM and all the normal things and then initiated a SIM swap at a Vodacom4U show at 10:50 Friday morning. Was then told to wait 3-hours before inserting into a phone, ended up waiting 5-hours just to find the SIM is not yet live. Phoned 082135 to have them tell me the store never completed the submission which started a back and forth until 20:00 that evening, got accused of interrupting the process because I inserted the SIM to early etc. etc. Was promised another 3-hours and all will be sorted.
Checked at 00:00, checked at 03:00, checked at 07:00 nothing. 08:30 Saturday morning phoned 082135 again, SIM swap apparently still not submitted but agent said she will cancel that order, resubmit and I will be live by 12:00. Of course nothing happened. Started phone calls again, spoke to a Team Leader who did not sound sober anymore but in general ended up with excuses and apparent escalations which apparently had the highest priority which meant 24-hours before I can expect feedback but should be sorted apparently soon.
Started calls on Sunday again, first agent explained that I must wait for the SMS before inserting the SIM in the phone, went round and round while trying to understand how I will get an SMS to tell me to switch on the phone if the phone is switched off. Second agent was better, said she will just cancel the current SIM swap which was set to fail in minutes anyway, I will then buy a new SIM and retry the SIM Swap and I will be back on the network by 12:30 on Sunday. Bought the SIM but apparently they are struggling to cancel the un-submitted SIM Swap
Obviously I am writing this because after more than 73-hours I am still offline and being frustrated with every 90-minutes having to phone in to explain this entire story, then going on hold for 30-mins, and then being told it has been escalated to the highest priority but no one is able to get hold of the back office or that one single person (and apparently there is only one in the entire Vodacom organisation) that can fix this but they promise to phone me back in 60-mins and no there is now way for me to contact them. Vodacom twitter account has also stopped responding.
Does anyone have any ideas what to try next or whom I can contact?
