[Vodacom] SMS Delays?

Not related to data, but perhaps there is someone else out there having the same issues.

I keep on receiving SMS's that are severely delayed. Three examples:
1) Received 3 SMS's sent from Vodacom4Me to my phone 2 weeks after they where queued
2) Received a international SMS that was sent yesterday only today - 24 hours later with a time stamp of 2008/01/02 14:39 and received it only at 15:50 (just now) so there is a >1 hour delay again.
3) ABSA banking transaction send SMS's to your phone if you setup your profile accordingly. I usually receive these SMS's within second of doing a transaction, lately I get them between 3 - >24 hours. I thought this was the SMS queue at ABSA perhaps being overloaded, but seems it might be a Vodacom issue if you look at (1) and (2)

Anyone else having similar issues?

Which handset?
 
Yes :( Finding some of my SMS's have been taking up to several hours to be delivered... started about a month or two ago when Vodacom started having several network problems.
 
I have to wait hours after sending a "balance" to 100.
But buy a Mygig takes like 2 minuters.
Anyone else?
 
I've only had one delayed SMS earlier today from FNB's inContact which arrived a couple of hours after the associated email.

Have you turned your phone off and on. LOL :D That's the usual advice from these call centre jockeys.

... or they might say you haven't deleted your old messages.
[Sure they're getting them from a black book]

The ones that get so delayed come at 2 in the morning are the worst! Always put phone on silent.
 
Actually, turning one's phone off and then on, or manually reselecting the Vodacom network, could potentially force queued SMSes to come through - as a result of a HLR update.

Its not only me it seems - 98% of people I have asked have the same issues, using various phones on various networks. (So should be 'load-shed' the mobile networks by switching of our phones at various times during the day - if so, where can I find the schedule ;))
