Vodacom SMS issues

Last night I had signal issues but otherwise it seems just dandy
 
im still having issuses sending sms's, none of them are being delivered. Silverton area PTA.

Aessa, wat you mean random SMS' being sent?

From which network, to which network?

Check that the SMS did not time out and is maybe still in your draft folder on your phone.

The problems last night was only from Vodacom to MTN/Cell-C. VC to VC SMS's should be fine.
 
I test SMSs everyday @ work and I pick up that the issue is mostly the towers. Too many users, week signal, interference from the Radar place next door.

Also the end-user handset can also affect the receiving of SMSs: battery low; weak signal; and newer phones have on offline mode; failure to register with network; or handsets not ack'ing with the networks.

Voice and SMS are seperate features of your handset.

From my experience the only real problem is CellC - VC & MTN are really good.

Random:
I'm not on Vodacom myself, but on two occasions have received several blank SMSes from my father and also some SMSes that repeated itself. When trying to phone back there's only some mall noise in the background (I did follow up on this, it wasn't a pocket call). As for the phone itself sending SMSes, it would be very odd as the phone is at least a year old now.

As for more details, I'm not sure. Can't say that its between one or the other network.

I was rather hoping that someone would be able to come with some personal experiences that I can relate to, but for the moment I keep an eye on all our remote units.

Since vodacom3g said that all should be well now, I'll forget about this for now.
 
The issue was from VC - Cell C. the problem seems to be fixed now. Thanks for the responses :)
