I was due to upgrade in Jan but was told to hold on as the specials then were running since November. So I wait....Feb comes, no new specials....Today I was told NO new specials and must wait for April:mad:. I thought the new rates were suppose to become applicable this month for cheaper contracts:confused:

I don't know. I can upgrade now but all the phones that's available to me are sucky. So I will wait and see if anything good comes up. :p

8th March is the new date for deals, im in the same boat as you - been waiting since jan for new deals on upgrades. if theres nothing worth my while im just going to port over to mtn they have a much better selection of phones and not too badly priced either.

I was told MTN is the devil, and yes no new specials since Nov is....

going to be some really good pricing on HTC phones from 8th March, then will have Sony Ericsson X2 and X10 launched +- end of March. Nokia X6 will be out in March as well. LG GM750 also good pricing.

What phones you looking for Ares?

Ok new Bold 9700 - nice options from 8th March - R367 per month on Vodacom's Talk 75 package (Handset R119, BIS R59, Tariff R189) - you get 75 anytime minutes plus all Blackberry services.
Otherwise at R429 on the Blackberry Talk 100 package getting you 100 anytime minutes plus all Blackberry services

Is there anywhere official you're getting your info? I'm also planning to upgrade the 8th of March, but three weeks extra wait for an X10 might be worth it. Thing is I was already due for an upgrade two weeks ago and I'm itching for a new phone, so I'd love to see something from vodacom themselves before deciding to wait.

hmmm mtn already got the 9700 on anytime 200 for 359pm (with BIS)

I'm also in the upgrade period, my contract expires in may :D

Thinking about getting a Blackberry 9700 but it seems MTN has a slightly better deal on the anytime 200 for R359 which gets you about 86 minutes and 25 free smss and the BIS is included. Seems like its time to move to MTN as they always seem to just undercut VodaCom with a better deal.

EDIT: lol HaNsA just saw your post as I posted.

MTN BIS is so slow you won't have any use for your phone...

I am overdue for an upgrade, but Vodacom's specials are not great, and seems next month's will not be that great either

The costing from Sony Ericsson hasnt be released yet on the X10 - but most likely expect it to be available for R414 on a Talk 130 from Vodacom (based on cost estimates from Sony Ericsson in SA).

And the current pricing on the Blackberry deals is the Vodacom official pricing to be released on the 8th.

I meant more along the lines of "where are you getting your info from?". I dont mean to sound like a sceptic, but I haven't seen anything official about when the X10 will be released or its price point anywhere. Do you just have very strong google-fu, or do you have access to info the rest of us dont have? If you've got inside info from vodacom and or their suppliers that would be great, I just hope you dont get into trouble for divulging it here. Estimated pay-in for an X10 on a Top-up 315 contract?
