Phoned Vodacom support 111 a couple of times now today and guess what they are giving me the Telkom excuse "We are offline for the day and technicians are working on the problem.

I need to urgently find out what the cellphone number is for a SIM Card number. I got the PUK, PIN and sim but don't have the damn Cell no. Is there some fancy *# number I can use to find out?

Put the SIM in a phone and SMS yourself. Or send a Call-me if you don't have funds.

The reason I need the number is that the sim card is not in my possession. I have no clue where the damn thing or the phone it is in is. Vodacom support should tell me this but they say they are offline all the time so they can't.

Vodacom should tell you where the sim is and/or in which phone? Not sure they can do that.

If you don't know where the sim is, it's probably not in a phone that on, right? Just out of curiosity, how is knowing the number going to help you find it?

Also, who said they're off-line? Which number did you dial? 111?

Sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify

A sim card number is a unique number (starts with 89)and is a number you get when you get a new SIM card (not your cellphone no). The cellphone no you obtain from the network and it not written on the card you get with the sim card. (only the sim number is)

It's a term that Vodacom support 111 uses. Don't understand the term myself and how one can be offline for the day. You will have to ask them what it means.
When Vodacom support's (111) systems are working they will be able to tell you the cellphone number is for your sim card number.

Just out of curiosity, how is knowing the number going to help you find it?
How how will knowing the cellphone number help me? If I know the cellphone number I can phone the number and the phone rings. If it rings I can locate the phone. Almost like that hot and cold game you play as a child.
