Vodacom to delete 3,5m customers

O/T: did anyone see Special Assignment (I think it was that) the other night re: the cell towers and the side effects the people nearby were experiencing?

You probably get exposed to more radiation from your microwave than from cell towers.

At an office park near a cell phone tower, 90% of the staff complained of irritability and cramps - it was later discovered that 90% of the staff were middle aged women....

This will boost their ARPU, but will they retain "SA's largest network" - though IMO MTN is still bigger...

Ye, MTN is bigger overall. They sure are making very smart moves, business-wise, of late.

How often do you use your microwave? :D

This is a very arrogant move from Vodacom who make a massive profit every minute. It will mainly affect the very poorest in the land

What is the legal position of these 3.5 million? Surely they have a valid contracted air-time window to be still allowed on the network?

This whole thing smacks of sliminess and greed. Surely their social responsibility conscience could allow these people to stay connected if they have valid air-time windows?
