Vodacom to evaluate monthly data bundle prices - CEO

Vodacom has published its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2019, which showed subdued mobile data revenue growth in South Africa.

Speaking at the company's results presentation at Vodacom World in Midrand, Gauteng, Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub said this lower data revenue growth could be attributed to its data pricing transformation strategy and the implementation of ICASA's End-User and Subscriber Service Charter (EUSSC) regulations.

Two weeks from now:

New Vodacom special:
R49 1 Gig data bundle
All you need to do is dial *111# between 08:00PM and Midnight, if there is a full moon, and you made a blood sacrifice to the gods ...
*Only valid from 01:00am to 01:05am on the same day

yep.. they're like discovery vitality.
would be easy for them to dominate if they just had simple pricing that matched the other networks

And then they will claim to have reduced the "effective" rate of data even lower through some fscked up calculation....

To reach the masses and to make profits they need to start matching Telkom on Prepaid.

Telkom offers R15 a Gig valid for 30 days on their Network.
Mo-Nice Offers Only.

Emptyn and Vodacon still offer close to R149 a Gig valid for 30 days.

Telkom is selling close to a Billion rand a month of data on the Mo-Nice.

So few subscribers and they firing.

Under R20 a Gig for prepaid users is what it should be like.

R10 a gig prepaid or contract period.

I'm tired of this effective rate crap. Vodacom haven't had a reduction in their 500MB and 1GB bundle prices since 2015. That's the only fact.

R10 a gig prepaid or contract period.
R10/GB maximum. Larger 1TB bundles should be closer to R1/GB.

Vodacom need to reposition themselves quickly.

Their network is no longer that good, and their pricing is way off.

Doesn't matter how may new products you come out with, their is a limit to the ARPU you can squeeze out of your consumers.
