Hi Guys

Would anyone perhaps be able to answer the following question re Vodacom's uChoose contracts:

1) Can you buy data bundles with inclusive airtime?
2) Can you buy power bundles?
3) Can you transfer the inclusive airtime
4) What is the roll over period for airtime?

Hope someone with this contract could shed some light. Become Vodacom's website is useless when looking for this important info.

Thanks in advance!

1. Yes you can buy data with your inclusive airtime.

2. Yes you can buy power bundles with inclusive airtime and paid for airtime. You can buy the 50mb for R3 and the 60min for R4. You can also buy power hour for R5 over weekends and R10 during weekdays. You can also buy the Chat for 20 bundle which is R10 for 20min calls to any SA network.

3. No. I don't think you can transfer the inclusive airtime. I have tried using airtime transfer but it says I need to call 111 to have it activated which to me sounds like whatever airtime you transfer will be billed directly onto your account. I'm not 100% sure on this one.

4.Not sure since I only joined this month but the 1GB data bundle I get with the contract expires only end of the following month. Usually airtime from top up contracts do not expire. You would have to confirm this but it might not expire.

Are you planning on getting a device with the uChoose flexi contract?

1) Yes,
2) Yes
3) No, also if you recharge you cannot transfer airtime on some Service providers.
4) 60 Days.

I being 7 months, inclusive airtime disappears after 60 Days. However the recharge airtime remains( currently 5 months still got the R12 I recharge with).

That sucks cause I do believe the olf top up packages you were able to stack airtime. MTN allows you to stack airtime but they also don't allow you to buy data with the inclusive airtime.

The simcard only deal? R129 per month for Flexi R200 and 1GB data each month?

Yes, sorry auto correct typed simply instead of sim.

I think its a pretty decent deal with the data added:)

Indeed it is and that is the exact same deal I took 2 weeks ago. Really good deal even with the highish call rate. Data makes it totally worth it.

Definately.

Mybb needs to cover that. 1 Gig on free on the majority of their sim only deals, not something we see often;)

Yeah converted my prepaid sim to the contract deal. They also have the free gb on the other sim only contracts too but I think the flexi 200 gives you the best deal in terms of data and possible minutes.

That is definitely a good deal. I'm tempted to move from cell c prepaid but hesitant to get locked into contract again even for such a small amount.

Yeah. Prepaid is very flexable but not always the best or cheapest. This package actually beats ANY prepaid offer even though the call rate is R1.80.

R129 gives you 1gb data a month and +-111minutes [R200 @ R1.80 per minute] to any network any time

Agreed in terms of value. It's the fact that I'll be locked in for 24 months that's making me hesitant. It will definitely suit my needs though and cell c data has been letting me down at home.
My current spend is around R150 including data because of supercharge (recharge with R300 every second month). I'll sleep on this one.

Yes indeed. The 24 month is not so cool. What if vodacom data gets slower or you move to a place where there is no coverage. I took it cause Cellc data is so bad I can't even use it. That said I don't even have 3G connection with vodacom at all BUT got good coverage everywhere else and LTE so I know I will be able to upload and download my stuff when I need to.

Another thing to consider is that what if ICASA lets us all down and the operators increase call rates to 79c as the deafult. MTN is 79c per minute and that won't increases so I think we can safely say that 79c will be the new low rate IF ICASA increases the termination rate in August or September...

Is the R129 sim only deal still available and if so where can one get it? I tried their website it is not there, also tried their store and the sales rep did not know what I was talking about.

No sadly its no longer available. It was part of their 20 year birthday sale so it was very limited. You missed a awesome deal

Not to resurrect this thread, but I just want to confirm 1) above as I got different answers from vodashops!
Thanks

Not to answer your question ;) but Dark Agent answered all the OP's questions and I would agree with his answer for point 1).

I just spoke to Vodacom online a few mins ago, and they said that you cannot buy data with your inclusive airtime??? You apparently have to buy data bundles over and above.

Can someone who currently has a uChoose Flexi contract as of now (2015-04-08) confirm that they can in fact still use their inclusive airtime to buy data bundles? And if so, how long does the purchased data bundles last?
