Vodacom Uchoose Flexi

They are correct . IIRC i tried it when i was on uChoose Flexi and it didn't work. Someone else is welcome to try it.

I can confirm that buying data with your inclusive airtime DOES still work. Bought a 2GB data bundle with my R250 inclusive airtime. R200 airtime for this months allocation and R50 carried over inclusive airtime.

I am on the uChoose flexi R200 sim only deal/special I got as part of the Vodacom 20year birthday sale. I pay R129 fixed rate for R200 airtime on flexi 200 and 1GB data for the 24 months.

Was a super awesome deal.... Basically just use it for data as the free airtime can buy data bundles and it pays for my simfy and deezer subscription. Pretty decent

Anyone know if Vodacom still has the Top Up 200 deal with 1gig data?

Vodacom deals are up for you to view in the cellular section.

I've seen them, thanks. However, I called to cancel my contract with VC, and they offered the Top Up 200 with 500mb data for R139. Its not listed on the pricelist though, or the website.

You missed out on the 20year birthday sale my friend. Those were some awesome sim only deals.

Damn, I reckon a Top Up 200 with 500mb monthly data for R139 ain't a bad deal either...1 gig would've been great..

Not to resurrect this thread, but I just want to confirm 1) above as I got different answers from vodashops!
Thanks

See this from vodacom's own site:

"The uChoose Flexi plans work in the same way as the Smart plans, except you receive a lump sum of airtime every month – from R50 up to R750. You can then use your airtime in whatever way suits you, whenever you need it.

Using your airtime, you can purchase data bundles and SMS bundles in the quantities you need. If you do run out of airtime, you won't be charged any additional amounts unless you choose to recharge, as you would with a Prepaid account."

Apologies for the thread necro but how does one convert airtime to data on the uChoose Flexi 200?

I'm attempting this on both the handset and online with little to no success..

Yeah, I've used that option but with no success... Maybe I'm choosing the wrong options...?

EDIT: It appears to want to add a bundle rather than convert available airtime. Using options 2, then 3...

Nevermind, worked it out.

I choose the reoccurring data bundle option instead of the once off data bundle option.

[-]IIRC, you can't do that with airtime they give you monthly. You can only do so with airtime you gave bought over and above the monthly R200 in your case.[/-]

edit: Confused buying data bundles with transferring airtime to someone else! :o

I buy all my monthly data with the R200 allocated to me on Uchoose flexi.

Gawd its pain working out what plan I should be on, perhaps a kind person would care to help out.

Got all 4 family members/numbers (1 contract) on uChoose Flexi 350. Two are managed fine, the other two have struggled to buy data on time and wasted the R350 on out of bundle rates while roaming. We use ADSL Wifi at home.

My own personal number I have managed fine but with a 60 day expiry window on my airtime (now over R700) and not being able to transfer airtime or data to one of the other 3 numbers, I am going to start losing money. :wtf:

I thought of dropping my personal number to a smaller uChoose Flexi in the interim as I clearly don't use that much in a month. Then buy airtime or data which I could potentially transfer.

What plan could I take up that allows data or airtime transfer and fits into my budget of R350 or less.

I took a look at Vodacom online but the more I click the more confusing it all becomes. Really nothing simple with this Company, they make a Telkom phone bill look like Grade 1 maths.

60 day expiry... that can't be right. I've managed to go up to 700 or 800 bucks on a flexi 200.

I used to be on a smart s contract and my total bill was about R300 pm. Then switched to flexi 200 and actively started buying the data and minute bundles (with my allocated monthly R200). Dial *111*60# and check out the specials. Especially "power hour" and "chat for 30" if you tend to make a lot of phone calls (you can try out all the options, it won't deduct any money until you confirm the transaction at the end). It takes a bit of discipline to buy them before you make a call, but since then I hardly use R100s airtime a month. In fact, I subbed to Deezer music with vodacom operator billing just to spend my airtime.

If your family (esp. kids) can't manage their bundles, that seems to be their problem :)
Have them put the "my vodacom" app widget on their home screens, then they have no excuse.

I'd say stick to the flexi (top-up) plans. They are the best value for money and give you access to the same cheap bundles prepaid customers get. Also do a test, load R10 extra airtime on your current contract and see if you can transfer that to your family. On the My Vodacom app it should show your flexi airtime top-right and the prepaid loaded airtime in the centre.
