Grr..... I haven't wanted to type this out, but I'm getting a bit annoyed now, so here goes:
I have 2 Vodacom contracts, one of which my mom uses. On Sunday, 16 November, my mom lost her phone and I had to contact Vodacom to lock the phone. When the call centre representative asked me for some personal info for security verification, my postal address, banking details and company info were no longer registered on the one contract (the one my mom was using). Instead of being registered under my personal name and residence, the contract was now under the name of some municipality in Limpopo and the banking details had changed from Std Bank to Absa.
Despite this, the call centre person locked the phone for outgoing calls on my request.
On Monday 17 Nov. my mom found the phone. That same morning, I looked through my Vodacom invoices (which I stupidly never actually look at due to the fact that the monthly payments are automatically debited from my account) only to find that since July '08, the account details have changed.
My problem is now twofold:
1) When this gets resolved, I'm probably going to have to pay 6 months worth of bills in one go.
2) Vodacom will now not unlock the phone for outgoing calls as the contract is not in my name. My mom now can't call from her phone.
Speaking to Vodacom's Coroporate Call centre, I was informed that the changes to my account were made at a Vodashop in Polokwane. I spoke to the manager there who said he would sort it out. On 21 November he emailed a Butch Coetzer and Annie Eltawil at Vodacom to attempt to resolve this. Having heard nothing further on 25 Nov. I emailed the Vodashop store manager and have had no reply. It turns out he's on leave. I've heard nothing from Eltawil or Coetzer.
This is getting quite frustrating, as my phone is gimped through no fault of my own, and Vodacom's doing f-all about it. In the mean time I have my mother on my case every day complaining about how she can't use her phone.
What can be done about this?
