Vodacom users hold the phone

Mark Taylor, the MD of cellular airtime supplier Nashua Mobile, said he was surprised that his call centre had not been inundated with complaints about the network failure.
We are just becoming another African country - we are getting used to bad service.

It's really pathetic... we, as consumers, don't care anymore. :(

Nope - we as consumers are alking with our money... waiting for number porting. I've lost a substantial amount in credibility and image because I could not sort out a problem on Friday afternoon... I looked like a fool - my client was using MTN!

Perhaps most of these subscribers are on pre-paid and cannot afford to make a call so didnt even realise that there was a problem.
Calls from landlines to pre-paid phones is what feeds the machine I would wager.

The sad part is most cell phone users are prepaid. They don't buy the phone to make calls just receive them - most of the time they will be SMS'ng. If it goes down...oh well....
