So I usually access my voicemail from a US phone as such:
To listen to Voicemail, dial +278214 followed by the last 9 digits of your cellphone number. Example: If your cellphone number is 0827654321 you would dial +2782 14 827654321

All of a sudden, its stopped working - anyone know an alternative option?

Did you manage to find a solution as I am having the same problem from the UK.

@FatBoySlim - We had a similar experience until VC informed us about the Voicemail system.
Voicemail System:- Voicemail box will close after 40days of no activity, this is defined as depositing of messages, Voicemail box owner checking for messages all within a period of 40 days.
A closed Voicemail box has to re-activated by the user and VC,

That makes no sense , it works for first week for me, then stops. I check it daily. I've done about 10 trips in the last two years and all the same problem.

@FatBoySlim - We merely relayed the information as supplied and will not play "Ping Pong" on this forum whether it makes sense or not. If it does not make sense to you why don't you take up this problem with VC instead of bleating in the media about the problem thereby wasting your energy in the process., directing your energy in resolving/understanding the problem and then inform all of us on this forum with your results!!!!

Wow , you have your man-period today - was simply making a statement, no need to get your panties in a knot

One guy says, it stops after a week. Onother guy responds it will close after 40 days. .LOL.

I think incidentally it is very good, as for every voice message you pay roaming fees twice: for depositing message and for retrieving such message. I always cancel diverts including voice mail before leaving SA with USSD code ##002#. Then you see a person calling (or retrieve from the history) and make an action.

I suggest enabling VoWiFi, assuming it works on Vodacom properly. JVZ recently claimed that VoWiFi is available not only for postpaid customers. That way you can stay in contact for the cost of local calls and voicemail box should stay alive.

The above does work, while the message is playing, dial 1 on the keypad and it takes you into your voicemail settings.
