VODACOM Yebo4less Prepaid Package

Whats the catch??

I was just reading yesterdays Sunday Times and i saw this huge Vodacom add saying that you can get up to 99% off vodacom to vodacom calls and up to 65% off calls to other networks. For pre paid customers only.
It says that all you have to do to get it is change to the yebo4Less tariff plan by dailing 1181.
Is there some kind of catch or something because it seems too good to be true.

I actually don't think there is a catch...
Whats the catch with mtn zone then?

Y4L discounts or handsets?

Hey guys

Yep. Y4L followed the MTN deal & that followed CellC deal. Trying not to loose market value but till then the pre paid customer must pre pay & over pay in comparison with the contract customers

I vote for a handset

Oh yeh
I don't get all these promo stuff from the networx. They pull the wool over every one's eyes

The bottom line as I understand it is that
1> The tariffs for prepaid is more expensive than contract even after the points
2> But prepaid does not get a handset after paying in advance for 2 years
3> Basic services like use the phone as modem to fax is not allowed for prepaids
4> Yet there are more than double prepaid lines than contracts
5> And if the contract guy bombs out during the contract then the prepaid customers must pay for that handset. Or who pays for it?
6> Prepaid business is the safest business & most advantageous to them because it's sure money & they get it up-front. Even electricity is going that way all over

What's your take on the point guys?

Lydon, I'm saying this in comparison to contract customers who obviously now say "hey we don't have such cool deals on contracts".

If you're on prepaid, you buy a fairly basic phone for R3000 that the guys on contract get for free. R3000 over the contract period of 24 months is R125 / month. To buy that R3000 phone using points (R10 airtime for 1 point) & you need about 5000points, that means you have to spend R50 000 on airtime over the 2 years, or buy R2083 airtime per month. Not many prepaid customers spend that on airtime a month ... so they will never get a phone in 2 years? Plus your calls are more expensive .... and they have their money upfront?

There are several people who can not get a contract for various reasons so now they are penalized for that? Sorry but I do not understand how the networks reason this out

My Family Topup had 5% and 5% at work, here at home it has 0% and 0% and my contract always has 0% and 0%.

I think they should rather turn that off on contract users phones, I'd rather see what tower its talking to.

It doesnt work, dont waste your time and money.

I changed my Tariff plan to yebo for less on may 11th. When i activated my cell info display, i saw huge discounts, once it was 99%! I decided to make a few calls, and guess what? No discounts! I got charged 5c per second... Now, my cell info display is stil on, and i get nothing but 0% and 5% discounts.. Please, dont waste your time with this service..

It can easily happen that just before one presses the "green button" your phone switches over to a different tower (with lower discount) and you wouldn't know it.

On MTN one get's a flash sms when you initiate the call confirming the discount. I think Vodacom should do the same to avoid any disappointments with getting a different discount than what the tower info says (said).
The MTN flash sms is also useful in that it "knows" when you are calling a number that has been ported or if you are calling a VAS rated number that does not carry any discount.

data usage

Using my phone as a modem is quite expensive.
R2.00 per MB. I have a pre-paid sim and want to keep it that why what are my options???????

I was looking a the website here and I see that sms are listed there. Does this mean that you can get discount with sms as well?
