Comparing Vodacom’s coverage map and real-world tests revealed that the mobile operator’s 5G coverage is far more extensive than anticipated.

MyBroadband used 2,500 5G speed tests performed using its popular speed test app during Q3 2021 to create a rough coverage map of Vodacom’s 5G service.
 
Moerse. Back in the flatlands of the rural Free State Vodacom still goes down like an ugly prostitute for a R50 note whenever we have loadshedding. Cell C and MTN is at least trying right until the 2 hour mark when they too give up the ghost. Thank deity of choice for Herotel who actually saw a gap in the market and is providing reliable fibre to smaller towns.
 
Wait for the 4th wave, way more 5G coverage....
 
These blue areas are so patchy that it can hardly be counted as 'coverage'.
