Vodacom's broadband 'superior'

Yup, but their slogan should be: Superior performance with Inferior Prices. No thanks. I'll stick with Virgin Mobile :p
Totally agree - still - it's exposure for MyADSL even if they omitted to link to the site.

Where is the report?

Interesting but where is the report? Rudolf waar is die ding? Sounds very interesting!

Was waiting for this. PR jump on reports like this. Shame really - only one package was looked at, so they can't really say what they are saying. Also, for iBurst to get within 0.3% despite lack of national coverage hitting them hard says a lot for how far ahead they could have been.

Go iBurst.

Exacately!

Hi Raithlin & Slinky

Thanks for the feedback.

I should just mention that these articles are based on a MyADSL press release. The rating of the services also incorporated packages other than 1 GB and further looked at out-of-bundle data prices and capping policies. This is one of the reasons why iBurst performed well. It is however true that iBurst’s lack of coverage cost them a few points…

Correct me if I am wrong, but as I recall from your posting of the survey (a month or so back), MTN came out tops. How is this possible considering that it's the same survey?

Hi Sabagamma

The user satisfaction rating is only one facet of the full survey (it was based on three separate questions) and did not look at the service’s performance, price etc. but rather at what users said. The final results are based on the actual performance of the service, its price, support etc.

This article highlights the difference: http://www.itweb.co.za/sections/telecoms/2006/0611061038.asp?A=BRO&S=Broadband&O=FPIN

RPM

It is somewhat disappointing though, that even in the ITWeb article, no mention is made of the debilitating cost of HSDPA if you actually want do anything that requires a broadband connection.

And what was the surveyed user's most important criteria? Price.

So you can go fast, but you sure can't afford to go far.
