I've just bought Vodafone 3G Modern for half the price that Vodacome is charging. Costs £35 in UK which works out to R460.;)

Will the moderm work when I am in SA?

If it's not network-locked, it will work perfectly. SA and the UK use the same frequency for 3G connections, and most 3G modems are dual-band UMTS in any case.

You should actually have asked that question before buying it :)

If it's Vodafone UK it will almost certainly be network locked!

All is not lost, you can use a unlocking service like www.dc-unlocker.com at a cost of 15 Euro your modem will be unlocked. I think that 15 Euro is around R180 so you'll still have a cheap modem!

You can also download (free) unbranded dashboard software for most Huawei modems.

I've unlocked several modems using the DC-Unlocker service and it's quick and painless.

You will have to have already installed the modem (i.e. so all drivers are installed) but have the dashboard software shut down when running the unlocking software.

can i use my braodband mordem on my PC now since i am a member

Even if the modem is locked to Vodafone UK it will probably work with Vodacom sim cards.

But not with any other ISP's.

No, every network operator, including Vodafone UK, Vodafone Oz, etc. has a unique MCC/MNC. A network-locked modem will only work with a single MCC/MNC.
