Maybe you can recommend another good phone than can run the same OS round about that price. Gonna be selling my old 9320 to buy it.

The smart 4 mini seems to have better hardware and is also for the same price:confused:wouldn't the smart 4 mini be the better option

I believe that the Huawei devices have lots of support over at Modaco, easily rootable, changing recoveries and loading custom ROMS(if this is what you are into)

i haven't seen an online community actively engage like that with the Vodafone device, although i haven't really looked all that hard to be honest

From that point of view,it would seem Huawei is a popular choice
Looking at Vodafone Smart Mini-5549
It says its a single core Mediatek MT6575

Huawei has dual core Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon, which also has a bigger screen

Comparison at GSM Arena

Wrong smart mini... Thats the old model

Its called the Smart Mini 4. Its the replacement of the original smart mini. R899 is the price at woolworths, and i think you get 200MB data upon activation i think.

Can you give an opinion on whether or not I should buy it?

Is that your range in terms of budget crash? Its a pretty decent phone, and unlike the steppa and y220, its got a bigger 4" screen compared to 3.5" . For the price, its difficult to reccomend anything else, apart from a few Nokias. If you are not too bothered with brand name and specs, then its a good buy. From what ive seen, it is selling pretty well
