Hi,

I am looking to get this router to replace my existing Huawei B683 which I have been pretty happy with but want LTE speeds.

I have downloaded the quick start manual and scoured the usual sites but the following is still unknown to me:

- Do the Ethernet LAN ports support 1000mb or just 100mb?
- Is there a WAN Ethernet port like my B683, reason I need this is that my Airport Extreme does the DHCP and just want to bridge the B2000 and the Extreme
- If you procure through Vodacom is it network locked?

Thanks

The version sold by Vodacom is the same as the Huawei B593u12 all so known as the unbranded version. Hope this helps.

like many Huawei devices there is such little info available anywhere, downloaded the 'quick start' manual from Huawei and it was very high level and did not address any specifics like my questions

Suggest you PM Jannievanzyl he might be able to assist.

I've got one of these at home. It's definitely not network locked. Unfortunately I don't know the answers to the other two questions. Will have a look tonight if all goes well.

Ah brilliant thanks Solitude, was hoping I would find an existing user.

I also confirmed with Voda yesterday it is not network locked.

Also found a site which said the NICS are 10/100

Only thing I could not work out yet is in the specs it says "The device cannot accept data IN on the ethernet ports, only data OUT"

very strange....

How do you find the Router? I plan to use MTN LTE

Do the Ethernet LAN ports support -- 100mb
- Is there a WAN Ethernet port like my B683, reason I need this is that my Airport Extreme does the DHCP and just want to bridge the B2000 and the Extreme -- no wan/lan mix only lan
- If you procure through Vodacom is it network locked? -- not network locked and there is firmware out there as well, my Vodafone Huawei test unit had to be flashed but I guess thats different.

Thanks for your reply SphereZA, all my questions answered, order placed.

Whew, I'm glad that SphereZA answered your questions. I completely forgot to check last night. :)
