Could anyone tell me please if my Vodafone Mobile Connect Card (An Option Quad Lite GPRS/3G) could be used instead with MTN. I've had terrible Vodacom experience (constant disconnecting).

Despite having no solution to offer Vodacom Support also reckon that MTN don't actually have 3G (yeah right) so naturally I don't reckon they're any help.

Any thoughts (good or bad) would be appreciated.

The Deude,

I suggest you try PM Vodacom3g - many forumites have managed success by contacting him and he through some miracle manages to come through almost every time.

Good luck - hope you sort your issue out.

Check out this thread earlier in the mtn list:

"does one need to phone mtn to enable gprs"

I have an Option quad lite purchaed from a vodashop and have gotten it to work on the mtn network with the vodacom software. If you enabled the sim pin, you may need to disable it.

I started with vodacom but had to switch because of poor speed and continual disconnects, sign of an overloaded network.

Not sure about option card, but the Novatel card (which is probably the card vodacom provides mainly these days) with the Vodafone dash software works with MTN without any problems [didnt even have to do anything strange].

Using MTN primarily because theres no Vodacom reception [GPRS or 3G] where im at, ironically MTN GPRS comes through full blast ;)
