Hey There,

I hope someone can help.

I just baught a vodafone K4040 Mobile Broadband USB Stick, and everytime i try to connect i get a RAS 635 Error message.

Does anybody know what that means?

Don't you mean you bought a K4505 as your title suggests? :-)

There are some know issues with the 4505 with overheating and disconnecting all the time. Some of the guys on the forum managed to get theirs swapped for slightly lower spec'd devices but more stable ones.

Me as well, having issues since yesterday... getting ras 619, 628 & 635 errors.

strange enough the modem+sim works on a different notebook with v9.4. i have uninstalled the software, deleted all entries under "phone & modem", deleted the folder C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Vodafone, rebooted reinstalled 9.4 & still getting ras error 635

phone customer support center, they give me same instructions

@staunchy20 Are you using windows 7? if so can you try the latest mobile broadband dashboard (link above) and if it still gives you errors, try connecting using that little network icon in the bottom right corner.

9.3 doesn't detect the device, 9.4 & 10.1 it detects the device but unable to connect. I've also tried deleting the vodafone folder from the registry after uninstalling 9.4. I'm so g@tvol of 3G modems that doesn't want to connect to vodacom or our APN...

worst off all 1 of the modems is the MD's & he wants it sorted out before end of the day. this has been 1 k@k week

Have you tried flashing it with the manufacturers latest firmware?

Remember to remove the sim before flashing it.

Have you tried a manual connection using the network icon in the bottom right corner? Sometimes if the vodafone software gives errors, there's a chance a manual connection will work.
