Vodafone post 2.4 million 3G subscribers

The cellular UK market is huge, what does surprise me though is that out of "2.4 million subscribers worldwide", "Data card subscribers accounted for 300,000 of the total 3G subscribers", I would've thought there would be a higher data card customer ratio...

DUH - remeber - these people have access to cheap ADSL.
Yeah, good point, the thing is though that in the UK a lot of people tend to spend a lot of time on trains [not the underground - there's no cellular coverage in the London Underground, although that might've changed now], so a lot of people commuting on trains often work on their notebooks whilst in transit...I certainly used to, having a mobile connection for email etc is basically essential...

You don't need the data card if you have a 3G enabled phone. You can connect to the phone via bluetooth and then use the phone as a 3G "modem" :D

Also true, phone manufacturers took a heck of a long time to get 3G phones to market, not sure how long the data cards have been available though...

Perhaps v3g can shed some light on all this - not that I'm trying to drag v3g away from the Vodacom Broadband forum or anything :D.
